Bovikalc Dry is an oral mineral supplement designed to support cow comfort during the dry-off period by reducing milk production. This reduction is achieved by inducing a slight and temporary metabolic acidosis. The decrease in milk production is advantageous for udder health as it alleviates udder engorgement and pressure, thereby minimizing discomfort.

Upon administration, the bolus dissolves in the rumen within approximately 30 minutes. The included anionic salts are then released and absorbed, influencing the cow's acid-base balance.

The supplement consists of calcium chloride, calcium sulfate, and ammonium chloride.

For usage, it is recommended to administer 2 boluses at the last milking or 8-12 hours before the final milking. It's crucial not to exceed the administration of more than 4 boluses within a 24-hour period.
