Elanco Somnu Shield is a cattle vaccine that aids in preventing Histophilus somni (Haemophilus somnus) disease. This killed Haemophilus Somnus Bacterin is designed for healthy cattle aged 3 months and older. Administer a 2 ml dose either subcutaneously or intramuscularly. The formulation includes an aluminum hydroxide adjuvant to enhance immune response.

Indicated for: beef cattle, lactating and non-lactating dairy cattle, and calves.

Purpose: Helps prevent bacterial pneumonia caused by H. somni

Storage: Keep between 35 and 46°F (2 to 8°C) and out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Do not mix with other products unless specified on the label.

Shake well before use. Administer 2 ml intramuscularly or subcutaneously, with a preference for subcutaneous administration in the neck per Beef Quality Assurance guidelines. Repeat the dose in 2 to 3 weeks, and revaccinate annually or as advised by a veterinarian.
